FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers. Here’s everything you need to know about working with us

I’ve never danced before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many of our students come to PRO DANCE with no previous dance experience at all. Your instructor will meet you at your current level and guide you step by step, so you can learn at a pace that feels comfortable and enjoyable.

Do I need a partner?

Not at all. You can come on your own, with a partner, or with a friend. During private lessons, your instructor can dance with you and guide you through everything you need to know. In group classes, there is no pressure to bring a partner either — you can participate solo, dance with others when appropriate, or simply focus on your own movement and learning.

What happens during my introductory lessons?

Your introductory lessons are designed to help us get to know you and what you would like to achieve through dance. You'll meet your instructor, explore a few dances, learn some basic movement and discuss the program that best fits your interests, schedule and goals. There is no pressure to already know what style you want to learn — that's part of what the intro is for.

What dances can I learn at PRO DANCE?

We teach Ballroom, Latin and social dance styles including Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Salsa, Bachata and more. We also offer wedding dance instruction, performance and competitive training.

What should I wear to my first lesson?

Come in something comfortable that allows you to move easily. For your first lesson, there's no need to buy special dance shoes — comfortable shoes that stay securely on your feet are perfectly fine. Your instructor can recommend dance shoes later if you decide you'd like them.

How quickly will I be able to dance?

Most students are surprised by how much they can learn in their very first lessons. You'll begin with practical steps and patterns you can use right away, while confidence, technique and variety develop naturally as you continue dancing.

Can you help us with our wedding dance?

Yes. We work with couples of all experience levels to create a first dance that feels comfortable, natural and personal. Whether you want something simple and elegant or fully choreographed, we'll build the lessons around your music, timeline and vision.

Do you offer lessons for children?

Yes. PRO DANCE offers programs for children designed to develop coordination, musicality, confidence and strong dance fundamentals in a positive learning environment. Contact your preferred studio for current ages, classes and availability.

Should I take private lessons or group classes?

Both have different advantages. Private lessons give you personalized attention and allow your instructor to build the program around your goals and pace. Group classes are a great way to practice, learn alongside others and experience different dances. Many students enjoy a combination of both.

How often should I take lessons?

That depends on your goals and schedule. Some students dance once a week, while others train several times per week. Your instructor can help you find a rhythm that gives you consistent progress without making dance feel like another obligation.

How much do dance lessons cost?

We begin with our introductory offer so you can experience PRO DANCE before choosing a program. After your intro lessons, your instructor will recommend options based on your goals, preferred lesson format and frequency.
